As you age, the chances increase that you might get a colon cancer. If a parent has had the disease before, the chances multiply just that much. You just have to be more watchful. Colon or rectal cancers often stay within family circles. A parent suffering from the condition at one time somehow indicates that the child also could suffer it at some time. Now, it might not come in a hurry, and it might not come at all, but the chances are certainly there. If you have a blood relative who has live with colon cancer at one time, or who is living with it already, the implication is that you also can catch the disease. Added to this could be the unfortunate fact you are now getting past middle age. Suddenly, your resistance is not as strong as you would have loved. Sometimes there are abnormal growths that find their ways unto your body and stay there. They are called polyps. In your intestinal tract, if they are not gotten rid of in a hurry, you could just end up with colon cancer. The presence of abnormal growths in your bowels is never a good sign. They might seem harmless for starters, but you are asking for trouble if you dont rid yourself of them. And, the sooner the better; colon cancer is never a sweet experience.
